The New Zealand High Commission continues its longstanding partnership with Leadership Fiji through its small grants scheme, a collaboration that has endured since the organization’s inception in 2001. As one of Leadership Fiji’s founding partners, the New Zealand High Commission has played a crucial role in the development of the Leadership Fiji Program and the leaders of our country.

The Leadership Fiji program provides participants with insights into Fiji’s socio-economic landscape across all sectors, through immersive experiences, such as site visits and talks by industry experts. Its goal is to cultivate a profound understanding and appreciation for Fiji among emerging leaders while equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to drive positive change.

New Zealand High Commissioner H.E. Ms. Charlotte Darlow congratulated the 30 aspiring leaders as they join the 2024 programme to further learn, adapt and grow in their leadership capacities.

“We are delighted to pursue our enduring partnership with Leadership Fiji to help build and increase the potential of emerging leaders so they have increased understanding of their strengths, skills, and capabilities and are ready to take on new challenges and initiatives that shapes the future of their communities.”

Leadership Fiji’s CEO, Ms. Sharyne Fong, expressed gratitude for the continued support from the New Zealand High Commission, highlighting its significance in fostering the development of future leaders of Fiji.

Ms Fong said “as we celebrate Leadership Fiji’s 23rd Anniversary this year, we reflect on our growth over the years and look forward to our plans for the future. Our plan has always been to establish a Leadership Fiji Academy and Centre for Fiji and the Pacific, which will serve as vital hubs for leadership development in our region. While the journey may still be ahead of us, we remain determined, knowing that with the support of our partners who believe in us, we will achieve our goals.”
