The New Zealand High Commission has continued its partnership with Leadership Fiji under the New
Zealand High Commission’s small grants scheme.
The New Zealand High Commission has been one of Leadership Fiji’s founding partners supporting the
Leadership Fiji Program development since its inception in 2001.
The Leadership Fiji Program allows members to explore their own values, philosophies, prejudices and
beliefs through a variety of issues offered by the program and also offers direct interaction with current
leaders across the private sector, civil society and Government.
The High Commissioner, H.E. Ms. Charlotte Darlow said “we are proud of our partnership with
Leadership Fiji in nurturing incredible leaders that have a shared sense of commitment, collaboration,
progress and determination to lead. This Program will support members to thrive by enhancing
interactive learning, instilling skillsets and building leadership capability.”
Ms. Darlow encouraged members to learn, lead, inspire and give back to the community by delivering
meaningful responses to the needs of our society.
At the Handover, Leadership Fiji’s Chief Executive Officer Ms. Sharyne Fong said “we appreciate the New
Zealand High Commission’s continued commitment and support in developing the future leaders of Fiji.
Ms. Fong added that “Leadership Fiji has evolved over the years and through partnerships such as this it
further strengthens and develops our programs and strategic vision. Our strategic vision and ambition is
to establish a Leadership Academy and Centre for Fiji and the Pacific to expand its offering of leadership
programs from its current core leadership program to across all levels of society. We will get there some
day and are grateful for the support of all our partners who believe in us.”
Today’s partnership grant was presented by the New Zealand High Commissioner, Her Excellency Ms.
Charlotte Darlow to Leadership Fiji Chief Executive Officer Ms. Sharyne Fong.
