The Leadership (Fiji) Foundation is proud to support Lomary Secondary School with the provision of resources to enhance curriculum delivery.

Lomary Secondary School is located along the Coral Coast in the province of Serua. Since its establishment in 1972, Lomary has provided quality education for students from the surrounding villages and communities in the Serua and Namosi provinces.

With Leadership (Fiji) Foundation’s support, Lomary Secondary School’s goal is to advance Year 9 students’ learning outcomes by incorporating multimedia resources into the English curriculum. The provision of projectors in the classrooms will make lessons more visual, interactive, and interesting for students.

Speaking about the support provided, the Leadership Fiji Board Chairperson, William Parkinson, said: “This supports our Leadership (Fiji) Foundation’s ongoing commitment to backing community-driven projects that create lasting impact, in this case with particular emphasis on education, youth development, and rural empowerment.” He further added that “this Foundation builds on our belief that leadership is about taking action and solving problems, and this will provide our Alumni with the opportunity to continue to connect via their passion community projects and activities for which we have become known for.”

The Leadership (Fiji) Foundation was recently incorporated in October 2022 and is led by five Leadership Fiji Alumni and two independent Trustees who make up the Board of Trustees for the Foundation.

Previously under a sub-committee of the Leadership Fiji Board known as the Leadership Fiji Community Fund, the Alumni members of that Committee had already supported a number of community projects totalling over $100,000 such as the funding of the build of a community play centre in Totoya in Lau which was undertaken by our Leadership Fiji 2015 Alumni, advocacy outreach programs of Drug Free World Fiji, supporting the Uto Ni Yalo Trust’s Traditional Sailing and Environmental Stewardship program, providing drone technology for monitoring and management of the Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park, providing life-saving equipment to Life Flight Fiji, partially funding the payment of a Van for The Greater Good Foundation to assist in the collection of stray dogs, assisting PPSEAWA’s Qoqa’s Greenhouse Project in Nagado Village, Nadi, purchase and delivery of a tractor and plough worth $40,000 to Montfort Boys Town, supporting TEDx Suva events and scholarships to participants in the Leadership Fiji core Program.
