The Leadership Fiji (LF) 2025 Cohort has successfully completed the first phase of its Community Project, marking an important milestone in its commitment to community service and nation-building.
Following a site visit undertaken earlier this year, the LF2025 cohort identified the Golden Age Home in Samabula as the focal point of its project. Phase One works have now been completed and included the refurbishment of the walkway in the ladies’ section of the Home, repainting of railings and window frames, water blasting of facilities, and the installation of lighting along the walkway. These enhancements further strengthen the safety and comfort of the residents, complementing the ongoing efforts by the Government and the Home’s management to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all.
The Leadership Fiji 2025 Cohort extends sincere thanks to the management and staff of the Golden Age Home for their cooperation and support throughout this phase of the project.
LF2025 acknowledges with appreciation the valuable contributions of its sponsors, whose support was instrumental in the success of this initiative. Assistance was received from Joji’s Restaurant, which provided meals for participants during the two days of project work; Longrun Fiji, which supplied roofing iron at competitive rates and ensured timely delivery; Temo Consulting, which supported the procurement of timber; Essity Australasia, which provided toilet paper, hygiene dispensers, and refills for one year; and Five Squares, which supplied paint and related materials. Additional sponsors and supporters also played an integral role, and their generosity is gratefully recognized
Phase Two of the Community Project will involve further painting works along the walkway and additional enhancements to the facility, ensuring a lasting and meaningful impact for the residents of the Golden Age Home.
The Leadership Fiji 2025 Cohort remains steadfast in its aspiration for a Fiji that, by 2035, will shine as a nation that is resilient, safe, innovative, healthy, and united.
Leadership Fiji is committed to service and values-based leadership. Each year, alongside the scheduled program, participants undertake community projects that not only address real needs but also provide opportunities for them to grow as leaders while giving back in meaningful ways. Since its inception in 2001, Leadership Fiji is proud to have close to 600 Alumni, all dedicated to creating positive change and contributing to the progress of their communities and Fiji as a whole.
