Westpac believes in Leadership Fiji vision
Westpac Fiji today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to show their commitment towards supporting Leadership Fiji and will continue to support Leadership Fiji for three years.
Leadership Fiji is grateful to Westpac for the support and for also believing in their vision to develop and enhance the quality of leaders in Fiji.
Westpac Fiji offers a full range of retail banking services as well as financial services geared towards large corporations and institutional clients. Their role is more than simply providing banking and financial services. It’s about being part of the stability and security of a sound financial system, playing an integral role in the local economy and contributing to the social and environmental wellbeing of local communities.
Westpac Fiji Chief Executive Officer Mr. Shane Smith said “I am proud to announce our gold sponsorship for Leadership Fiji which I believe helps to build great leaders in our business and our communities”
Westpac has supported the program since it began its journey 21 years ago with our first participants Eseta Nadakuitavuki and Navitalai Sovalawa who are both senior leaders at Westpac today and are referred to as the ‘head girl’ and ‘head boy’ of Leadership Fiji.
Education is a large part of our sustainability work in the community, and we continue to run our financial literacy and business basic programs as well as our continuous support of women and girls with our Westpac Women and Girls Education Grant program where we are giving away 30 scholarships so, please put in your applications before 30 June.
Leadership Fiji’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Sharyne Fong said while signing the Memorandum “Leadership Fiji is growing and with partnerships such as this it further strengthens our programs and its strategic vision and ambition to establish a Leadership Academy and Centre for Fiji and the Pacific.”
Leadership Fiji focuses on assisting emerging leaders to cope with the demands of the ever-changing world and it allows members to explore their own values, philosophies, prejudices, and beliefs through a variety of issues offered by the Leadership Fiji program. Leadership Fiji is optimistic that through the lessons learnt from its programs it will develop a new generation of leaders equipped to take Fiji forward as a united dynamic nation.
In closing, Ms. Fong welcomed Westpac to its family of partners.
