From generously welcoming our Leadership Fiji participants to his farm and complex in Nukuloa, Ba for our Sugar and Mining sessions, to opening up about the real and raw challenges of doing business and farming in Fiji’s rural, Parmesh created space for truth, learning and connection. Our visits was more than just a field trip, it was a lesson in resilience, humility and the grit that fuels rural enterprise.

Parmesh did not shy away from difficult conversations. With quiet candor and deep insight, he reminded us that leadership lives where the people are; through sun-baked fields, long workdays and tough decisions. And through it all, Parmesh stood firm in his belief that community upliftment begins with empowering others, and for him it was his community in Nukuloa, Ba.

His generosity was rooted in conviction. Whether through advocacy, opening doors for aspiring leaders or standing in solidarity with causes that mattered, Parmesh lived by the values we teach in our programs: lead with respect, service and excellence.

Leadership Fiji’s Chief Executive Officer, Sharyne Fong said “I knew Parmesh as a humble gentle giant from when we worked together at the National Bank of Fiji, and as I reflect on the countless lives he has touched, I offer this tribute not just in farewell, but in gratitude; gratitude for being a true son of Fiji, for giving back and for progressing our future.”

Parmesh Chand’s legacy will live on through the minds he has shaped, the communities he has nurtured, and the stories that will be shared across our Leadership Fiji cohorts, villages and boardrooms alike.

Vinaka vakalevu, dhanyavaad and thank you so much, Parmesh! You gave us your time, your wisdom and your heart. May your soul rest in eternal peace and may your legacy continue to light the path for those who dare to lead with conviction and compassion as you did.
